Vi earned her nursing education at Cebu Doctors' College of Nursing in the Philippines. She joined the Arthritis Institute team in 1991. Vi has played a pivotal role in nearly every aspect of care delivery for Arthritis Institute patients. She is one of the first team members patients meet prior to having surgery and she is one of the last people patients see before going home. In addition to her primary role of overseeing inpatient care, Vi has contributed to the Arthritis Institute on many levels. She has participated in the development of the protocols currently in use today. She has implemented research activities to improve care processes. She collaborates with doctors, physician assistants, and therapists. She has mentored many nurses. The Arthritis Institute is what it is today, in large part, because of Vi Gabule.
