Directions
If you would like to use the Metrolink train system to visit the Dorr Arthritis Institute follow the instructions and links provided here.
Take any Metrolink train into Los Angeles Union Station. Once at Union Station walk down stairs to the Metro subway. Because you are at Union Station, the end of the rail line, the trains only go one way so you can take either the Red or Purple line trains to the 7th and Metro Center station, that is the 3rd stop. Exit subway at 7th and Metro Center and take the stairs, escalator or elevator to the Figueroa Street exit, that is the west exit.
You are now about five blocks from the Dorr Arthritis Institute. Your options are walk or ride the bus. Keep in mind that if you walk it is a slow uphill walk to the Dorr Arthritis Institute and it will take about 15-20 minutes to walk.
To walk:
Exit the Metro rail station on Figueroa Street and turn right. Cross Wilshire Blvd. then cross Figueroa Street. Then walk up Wilshire Blvd. traveling west, cross over the 110 freeway and continue four more streets to Lucas Ave. Cross the street and turn right on Lucas Ave. to 637 Lucas Ave. There is a blue awning with the address. The Dorr Arthritis Institute is just inside.
To take the bus:
Exit the Metro rail station on Figueroa Street and turn right. Cross Wilshire Blvd. then cross Figueroa Street. There is a bus stop on Wilshire Blvd. Take the Metro Express #489 or the Metro Local Line #20. These buses will drop you off at Wilshire Blvd. and Witmer St. It is then easiest to walk back east (the direction you just came) to Lucas Ave., turn left walk up the short hill to the blue awning at 637 Lucas Ave. The Dorr Arthritis Institute is just inside.
Another option from Union Station:
Take a taxi from Union Station. The address of the Dorr Arthritis Institute is 637 Lucas Ave. between Wilshire Blvd. and 6th St.
